Sfouf Cake Recipe featuring ASB's Turmeric Latte Mix

Lebanese Sfouf cake gets its beautiful golden color from turmeric, the "golden spice." This adaptation gets an additional flavor boost from the black pepper, cardamom and cinnamon in our Turmeric Latte Mix.

Sfouf Cake

1 cup semolina flour
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
4 large eggs
1 cup yogurt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons Aromatic Spice Blend's Turmeric Latte Mix
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional, for added texture)

1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour a cake pan of your choice.

2. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the semolina flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add the Aromatic Spice Blend's Turmeric Latte Mix and mix well.

3. Prepare Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, beat together the sugar and eggs until light and fluffy. Add the vegetable oil, yogurt, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.

4. Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

5. Add Nuts (Optional): If you're using nuts, fold them into the batter until evenly distributed.

6. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

7. Cool: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

8. Serve: Once cooled, slice and serve. You can dust the top with powdered sugar if desired.
